October 6th 2007
The U11’s were brought back down to earth after their encouraging performance against Solihull and
they were beaten 4-0 by a Walsall outfit better suited to a large pitch which was not appropriate for
primary schools football.Rhys Horton and Kalem Betts worked tirelessly to create things in midfield
but this was really a morning to forget.The U15's safely negotiated the 1st rd of the National Trophy
against Stoke.Sam Coles scored twice and Wood,Birch and Stamford were also on target in a 5-2 win.
The U13's started with a 4-2 victory over Cannock in the West Mids league.Dominic Dell was in electric
form and scored all 4 goals.
The U11’s found Walsall too strong for the second time in a week but played better than the
3-1 score line would suggest.Wolverhampton's goal came from a stunning free kick from Kalem
Betts.The U12's and U13's travelled to Luton and both teams were beaten.The U12's took an early
lead only to lose 3-2 with Jacob Bull and Kosongo both on target whilst the U13's lost 1-0.The U15's
entertained Luton and despite being affected by injuries and County trials they performed creditably
in a 2-1 defeat.Oliver Green scored their consolation goal in a performance full of promise.
October 13th 2007
The U11’s travelled to Wrexham and emerged with two wins and two defeats from a mixed performance.
Harry Cunningham scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win and their other victory produced a 3-0 scoreline.The
U15's again hit with injuries and withdrawals drew 2-2 with Erdington and Saltley after Chadd Birch had
given them a half time lead.Greg Stanford scored a late equalizer but the West Mids title now seems
beyond them.The U14's fought out a 0-0 draw with Stoke after missing numerous chances in their Staffs
league fixture and a generally disappointing morning for our teams was completed when the U12's lost
2-1 to Nottingham despite Keiron Whittaker giving them an early lead.
October 20th 2007
The U11’s entertained Leeds and the A team led 2-1 with a brace from Daniel Hall but the visitors
snatched a late equalizer to finish 2-2.The B team also competed well but were undone by defensive
errrors and were beaten 3-1 despite an excellent lob from Josh Ashman.The U12's faced Leeds in the
third of the Friday fixtures and were generally outclassed despite Keiron Whittaker giving them an
early lead. 6-1 was perhaps rather harsh but no less than the visitors flowing football deserved.The
U15's were back on form keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 win.Greg Stanford (2) and Sam Coles clinching
the Staffordshire points.An excellent performance from the U13's who also performed well in the Staffs
winning 5-3 at Cannock with a brace from Edmondson -Griffiths and another Dominic Dell hat trick.The
U14's beat Stafford 4-2 also in the Staffs with goals from,Baker,Grewal,Breakwell and Lee.
